Never, Never, Never loan your car to another driver. That is your insurance company’s golden rule. But not so in 1969 when Steve let his brother, Larry, borrow his 1957 Belair convertible to go on a date.
With his girl by his side Larry topped the hill of a country gravel road and met three cows. Unable to stop, he hit and killed a cow doing major front end damage. Although both brothers were leaving for the service, Larry felt bad and located a front clip, placing it next to the car where it was stored in their father’s barn for the next 40 years.
Although many a grandchild visiting Grandma’s house went on imaginary trips and dreamed of travels far and wide, all the miles this ’57 saw were imaginary until it was time to sell the family homestead. It then became clear that it was time to bring this 1957 Convertible Belair back to the living. It was our pleasure to resurrect this classic back to the road worthy king of the road
