When Susan & David decided they wanted to surprise her father and restore his 1949 two door Chevy coupe, it was game on!
While Dad was away visiting in Australia, a plan was born. We would help steal his car from under a quarter century of stored items in the barn where it had been left for memories of better days.
After notifying neighbors that this was not a late night heist midst a winter snow storm, the car was brought back to Eddies Rod & Custom. All stood with broom in hand to catch any varmints thinking a hot rod shop might make a nice new cozy home.
Although restoration was not complete when Opah was firsts shown his car at an open house, his surprise was well received and he loved telling everyone the stories of how he used a broom to paint the car one day under the shade tree and how magazines kept the kids feet dry from water coming up thru the floor boards. But Baby Look at this ‘49 Now!!
